Word of the Month: I Forgive You!
Have you ever been the victim of someone’s malicious and selfish behavior? Have you ever been hurt by people who were incredibly close to you? Have you ever experienced betrayal that felt like the world was on top of your shoulders? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are not alone. Many people experience disloyalty, betrayal and treachery on a daily basis and many people hold on to that disloyalty, betrayal and treachery for the rest of their lives. This harboring of these hurt feelings is bondage and you must let it go to be free.
So what do you do after someone has knowingly or unknowingly hurt you? You FORGIVE them! Although this may be easier said than done, you must realize that forgiveness is about Him and not them! That’s right, forgiveness of others is about what Jesus did for you not about what others did to you. This month, take a moment to revisit past hurt in your life and begin calling the person who caused the hurt and express your forgiveness.
Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
